Sharing with guests

As a collaboration heavy tool, Turtlewig offers very flexible sharing capabilities. Here we explain some of the main sharing related features - more specifically about sharing with people outside your day-to-day organisation.

What are guests?

Typically, guests are stakeholders outside your team, such as clients, freelancers you collaborate with, and team members who don't need to see the entire workspace, but do need access to part of a particular project (a section).

You can add guests using the sharing settings found on the top right corner of a section.

No one wants to pay a per-user monthly fee for collaborators who do not use the system regularly! Giving guest access using Turtlewig is the best solution to this. No more unnecessary overheads for getting more opinions.

Guest editors

Need to be invited using their email ID.

Can upload, download, comment on, and rename all files in the section they are invited.

However, they cannot invite, change sharing settings or access any other sections.

Guest viewers

Need to be invited using their email ID.

Can view and comment on all files in the section they are invited.

By default, they cannot download any files. To enable downloads, read on! (Hint: Download permission)

Anonymous guests

Same permissions as a guest viewer, however they do not need to log-in to view and comment. They simply access the section using a link.

Other permissions

Currently we let you choose whether the files in a section are downloadble by viewers or not. This enables some amazing use cases like being able to create, manage and distribute a public brand/media kit without involving your website developers. Simply embed the Turtlewig section link on your website, share over an email or anywhere else.

How are guests counted?

Anyone you explicitly add from the section settings, and is not already present in your team (workspace member) is considered a guest. We only limit the number of guest editors, depending on the plan you are on. All plans come with unlimited guest viewers and anonymous guests.

Furthermore, we counts guests only on a project basis. At any time, you can have a maximum of projects times the guest limit number of users added as guests in your entire workspace. That happens to be quite a lot of users for free!

Enjoy sharing your work on Turtlewig!
